INTERIOR PAINTS
Priming Paints
Priming is necessary on most new walls, such as gyprock or fibre cement, because
they are very absorbant and can pull the pigment and fillers out of a wall
paint resulting in poor covering power and a patchy or chalky finish.
A good priming paint will fill the pores of the surface so that this absorbancy
is reduced and subsequent coats of paint will go further and cover more
evenly.
Chalky or flaking walls need to be sealed so that
subsequent coats of paint will have a solid surface to adhere to.
Bare timber, masonary and bare metal each have their own
type of primer to suit this surface.
